Debut: v1, ch 3 / ep.

Nowaki is a medial student, whose hopes is to become a pediatrician. He fell in love at first sight with Hiroki when the man was busy drowning in his miseries of his painful one-sided love. Upon meeting Hiroki, Nowaki then insists him to become his tutor. His namesake "typhoon," is an allusion to how Hiroki fell for him. He is the "seme" (giver/top) of the Egoist relationship.

Soon after Nowaki was born, he was abandoned in front of an orphanage. By the time the owner had found him, it was already raining heavily, hence he was named, "Nowaki." He's very hard-working and dedicated. After finishing middle school, he immediately went job hunting and though his salary didn't pay much, Nowaki took it upon himself to donate to the orphanage in order to help the kids in need. When Egoist was introduced (18 years), Nowaki had a total of 6 jobs in order to fend for himself (which includes as a florist & construction worker). He initially studied to become a social worker, but is now studying as a Pediatrician.

Nowaki is kind hearted and perceptive; one of the main reasons why many get along quite well with him. He need not speak but simply observe. He's very altruistic (most especially when it comes to Hiroki) to the point of being passive, enduring almost anything Hiroki throws at him.

Throughout his life, Nowaki has never particularly desired anything. He wasn't necessarily repressing himself but rather never felt the drive otherwise. It is for this very reason that he's quite responsive towards Hiroki and his environment. For as long as Nowaki can remember, there is only one thing that he feel he must absolutely possess by "any means possible" and that "thing" is none other than Hiroki.

Such fervor is the cause of hideous feelings arising within Nowaki; jealousy and low self-esteem (whenever it involves Hiroki of course) included. Any inclination of Hiroki showing fondness towards others, he becomes anxious. He's afraid after all, to lose the one thing that is most special to him. Though Nowaki expresses his youthful tendencies (i.e. open jealousy), he is quite mature as he sees beyond the present (i.e. Act. 12) and diligently strives for the future.
